For those who love horse racing, playing even in the months where it would be to cold, there is all-weather tracks though out the UK. There are 5 of these all-weather tracks that you can choose from. With this type of racing you will be able to bet on low-grade horses during the winter months, in fact many punters who want to make money will do so in the sands at the all-weather track. You can find these tracks at Kempton Park, Lingfield Park, Southwell and Wolverhampton in the UK; there is also a new one called Great Leigh’s.
The horse racing season opens at the beginning of autumn and continues throughout the winter. This sport will pay out £5 million to winners; it will have championship tournaments for both the jockeys and the trainers. There is something for everyone in the winter races at the all-weather tracks.
There are some things you should remember when visiting any of the tracks is that all of them, with Kempton being the exception, being left handed. Two of the tracks Southwell and Wolverhampton are shaped almost like cough lozenges, while the track located at Lingfield is a triangle. All of the races are done on sand of which there are two different types. One material (sand) used is called Polytracks and it allows fast movement as horses are usually used to on turf tracks. Another is called Firesand and is also very close to turf; however it is like running on soft ground. Before betting on these horses , who have the different sand surfaces, you should see how they have fared on the surface they are currently running on by checking through their stats about whether they have run on this type of track before.
Long striding horses do not fare as well as those horses who run “handily” or that can race at pace. The layout of the Lingfield and the Wolverhampton tracks make it possible for those low drawn horses that are capable of funning the race “handily” have an advantage in this type of race. These races run on these tracks are usually 5 furlongs in length.
Knowing the all-weather tracks will give punters the advantage of being able to continue to enjoy horse racing during the winter month when the normal horse racing season is done. It also is a very entertaining way to watch horse racing as you have a grand old time at the “sands” of the all-weather tracks and enjoy making great money.
